Youtube Reportedly Categorizes Pro Wrestling As Restricted/Not Advertiser Friendly

Youtube contributors have been very upset with moves made by streaming service.

There have been recent issues such as being removed from search, favorites not appearing first, and even legitimate news videos being marked as fake news due to political bias. The latest shakeup appear to be hitting pro wrestling contributors.

AIW reported on Twitter, “@YouTube categorized wrestling in the not advertiser friendly/restricted mode category and killed off monetization cc:@beyondwrestling”

Pro wrestling reporter Ryan Satin responded, “I noticed the video I posted this week said it only made 14 cents from over 100K views.”

Many other contributors have also noted their monetization levels have dropped as well.

This is definitely not a good thing for Indy wrestling promotions who use YouTube income as a secondary source of revenue.

There is no word as of yet if industry leader WWE has also been relegated to the restricted category.
