Sasha Banks Vs. Alexa Bliss In Abu Dhabi Is Not So Historic After All

WWE has been giving a lot of lip service this week to the fact that Alexa Bliss vs. Sasha Banks in Abu Dhabi was both historic, and ground breaking. WWE has implied and sometimes directly referred to this as the first women’s pro wrestling match in Abu Dhabi, but it wasn’t. It was only historic within the confines of the WWE Universe.

A little over 7 years ago on November 10th, 2010 Angelina Love & Velvet Sky defeated Madison Rayne & Sarita at a TNA live event in the kingdom.

There is even some brief footage featuring the ladies of TNA in the ring at the Abu Dhabi event:

So while the match between Bliss and Banks was historic as far as WWE standards, TNA beat WWE to the punch by nearly 7 years (Sarita even had the bravery to shun the oppressive Sharia Law and wear her traditional gear).
