Netflix Picks Up G.L.O.W. Scripted Series

As we reported 2 weeks ago, Netflix had ordered a pilot for a series based on the 80’s all female wrestling show Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling (G.L.O.W.). It looks like the streaming network likes what it has seen thus far and has ordered a season of the scripted series.

Variety reported the news of the G.L.O.W. series pickup today. According to their report the order consists of 10 episodes.

The article offers up the following description for the series, “Inspired by the real story behind the wrestlers, the half-hour series will be the fictionalized story of an out-of-work actress who finds one last attempt to live her dreams in the form of a weekly series about female wrestlers. “G.L.O.W.” will be set in Los Angeles and is described as showcasing ‘big hair and body slams’.”
